Billy & Smudge
‘Warning,’ says the notice on the door to the reception area. ‘Large but friendly dogs inside.’ And they don’t come much friendlier than these two – Billy the chocolate Labrador, belonging to Neil and his wife, Gina, and Little Rob’s coal-black Smudge. Indeed, the warning is as much to prevent anyone tripping over the pair of them, usually lying flat out together on the office floor, as it is to avoid unwanted licks and nuzzles. Unsurprisingly they enjoy fish-and- chip Friday, too. And, when it’s not raining, lunchtime walks with Nicole. And, well, chasing after a tennis ball or rubber ring that anyone is foolish enough to throw for them – because invariably it will mean throwing it many more times after that.
