BS Motorsport: a brief history
Neil Bainbridge has been involved in maintaining, race-preparing and restoring classic Porsche RS road and competition cars since the mid-1980s – long before they came to be seen as ‘investment opportunities’. In the 1980s he prepared and raced Chester Wedgewood's well-known ex-Jack Tordoff right-hand-drive Carrera 2.7 RS Lightweight, for use in the production Porsche series. Neil then went on to prepare Gideon Hudson's 911 3.0 RS, and ultimately John Goate’s formidable 750bhp 935 K3. Setting up and maintaining these cars to a race-winning standard was just the background Neil required to begin to focus exclusively on competition Porsche preparation, and now, 30 and more years later, a number of these circuit warriors are back in the workshop for restoration.
